Graduate Admission

Loyola takes seriously the individual nature of applying to a graduate program designed with professional advancement in mind. The typical Loyola classroom is filled with students from all backgrounds and levels of experience. This atmosphere creates a rich blend of perspectives leading to lively discourse.

Admission to The Graduate Programs at Loyola is a competitive process that takes into consideration your ability, aptitude and potential among many other factors. To be considered for admission you must have a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university.

Since no two applicants to Loyola are alike, it's imperative that our admission committees carefully review the credentials of each individual with thoroughness. The evaluation of each component part of an application for admission will matter and no single component alone will disqualify and applicant. As a general rule of thumb, all programs require the following components:

  • Certified official transcripts or marksheets from every post-secondary academic institution attended
  • Personal statements or essays
  • Resume or vitae
  • References (number varies)
  • Signed application for admission

Each individual program will require additional supplemental materials ranging from portfolios to standardized tests. Please refer to the Admission requirements section under each academic program for specific instructions.

The Graduate Admission Office serves as a central point of contact for your application for admission. You may apply on-line and can access traditional forms by mail, or in a downloadable PDF version. To check the status of your application at any time, feel free to call us at 410-617-5020, send us an e-mail at graduate@loyola.edu, or drop in for a visit at one of graduate centers.
