Classroom lecture begins immediately after the visitation session beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Please note that while we can typically accommodate all visitors to attend a class, there are some restrictions due to the classroom size. The Visitation Day Program on February 10th will be held in the Admission Office Conference Room on the first floor of the Humanities Center on the Baltimore Campus at 4501 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210

The Integration of Spirituality, Counseling & Care Put your faith to work through caring for others. Loyola's Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Care program-the only graduate program of its kind in the world-will prepare you to answer that call. Join us for an information session. At the session you will meet faculty, learn about our certificate, master's and doctoral programs specifically designed to study the integration of spirituality and the social sciences. Join us for a presentation and learn about our degree programs in the areas of Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology, Literacy Education, School Counseling, Master of Arts in Teaching/Teacher Education and Special Education.

February 18: Montessori Visitation Program 2/18/2010 1:15 PM
 
Immerse yourself in the world of Montessori Education by spending an afternoon with us at the oldest AMI training Center in North America. This session will include an informal presentation on information pertaining to the history of Montessori Education, overview of the primary and elementary programs, program requirements, education core courses and admission requirements. At the conclusion of the program, applicants are invited to tour our practice environments and meet AMI Directors and students. Reservations are recommended.
February 24: Liberal Studies Visitation Program 2/24/2010 5:30 PM
 
The Graduate Program in Liberal Studies offers a unique degree designed to examine contemporary American culture through interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary views. This program will enrich your understanding of world events and provide you with the tools to meet everyday work and life challenges. Join us on February 24th for an informal session to learn about this program, the admission process and flexible course schedule.
March 2: LCPC Information Session 3/2/2010 5:30 PM
 
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors or LCPC's are individuals who may provide services involving the application of counseling principles and methods in the diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and improvement of psychological problems, emotional or mental conditions of individuals or groups. LCPC's are employed in a variety of work settings including private practice, community mental health programs, psychiatric programs, school settings, hospitals, employee assistance programs and community colleges. Because licensure broadens the scope of practice for professional counselors, LCPC's have many career options. Join us on March 2nd to meet with Dr. Parente, Director of the Masters Plus and learn more about: Educational Requirements, Curriculum, Clinical Counseling Experience and Supervision, and the Application Process. Our discussion will include the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. We will review the educational and examination requirements and how Loyola College can meet those needs. Master's Degree is required for admission.

Kodály Day at Loyola University Maryland: A Day in the Life of a Kodály Certification Student

Join program director, Amy Branum Huggins and AKI faculty members for an exciting day of exploration and information gathering about Kodály Music Education and the Kodály Masters Degree Program at Loyola. Participants will attend sample classes in Kodály Methodology, Kodály Materials, Solfa and Choral Studies/Conducting. Teachers will have the opportunity to enhance their musical and pedagogical skills while learning engaging songs, sequences, and strategies that can revolutionize their music programs. Everyone will take home a fabulous collection of kid-tested songs, singing games and activities. Breakfast and a buffet lunch are on us!

This session will include a formal presentation by our Montessori primary and elementary faculty and Graduate Admission staff. You will tour our state of the art training environments for primary (ages 3-6) and elementary (ages 6-12) levels. Reservations are recommended.

    May 15: Kodály Double Feature Workshop 5/15/2010 8:30 AM
     
    Kodály Double Feature Workshop: Songs & Dances from Africa for the Music Class & the Improvisation in the Music Class

    Join our outstanding guest presenters for an exhilarating day of songs, dances, games, and activities for the music class that your students will love! Teachers who attended our fall workshop enjoyed a sample segment of our African session, in which participants will learn authentic songs and dances collected in the field by a music teacher. Our improvisation session will provide teachers with a wealth of highly creative and motivating activities that are perfect for the "practice" segment of teaching the rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic elements of the vocal music curriculum. As always, participants will take home a great collection of songs, games, and activities to use in their classroom. Complimentary breakfast and box lunches will be provided!

    Are you interested in teacher education or special education? Attend our information session and learn more about career options in education! Join us on June 8th for a unique, personalized opportunity to learn more about our Master of Arts in Teaching/Teacher Education and Special Education Programs. Whether you are a recent college graduate, a professional interested in changing careers, a non-certified teacher, or current undergraduate student, Loyola College has a program for you. During the evening program, education faculty and staff will give simultaneous sessions about the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), Master of Education in Special Education and the 5 year Bachelor's/Master of Arts in Teaching Programs. Please note the 5 year program is open only to Loyola undergraduate students. All sessions will cover information on admission strategies and tips on financing your graduate education. Reservations are recommended.
